Automatic analysis of the control of the global performances of the automatic patient repositioning system in IGRT or SGRT using the treatment table
Connected to the QUALIMAGIQ platform, it takes the CUBE module only 2 mouse clicks to analyse the many DICOM images (high and low energy portal images and tomographic slices) acquired during control of the global performances of the automatic patient repositioning system by IGRT or sgrt.
This test is decisive for the precision of patient repositioning based on this automatic system. It is a global test as it tests the whole repositioning sequence: acquisition of images beneath the treatment machine, resetting of these images on the reference images, automatic shifting of the treatment couch based on this resetting
The QUALIMAGIQ software performs the following automatic analysis operations:
- Test N°1 – Cube or sphere (QUALIFORMED OTP-ISO+ test object) aligned on the isocentre locating lasers: analysis of the 2D-MV and 2D-kV images (one image in lateral incidence and another in anterior incidence) of the cube or sphere aligned on the isocentre locating lasers to control the gantry angles (MV images) and the alignment of the the MV and kV imagers used in planar (2D) mode on the isocentre locating lasers.
- Test N°2 – Cube or OTP-ISO+ sphere aligned on the isocentre locating lasers: analysis of the CBCT (3D-kV) images of the cube or sphere aligned on the isocentre locating lasers to control the alignment of the coordinate frame of the kV imager used in CBCT mode on the isocentre locating lasers.
- Test N°3 – Cube or OTP-ISO+ sphere voluntarily moved by 3 known translations in the 3 directions in space by means of movements of the patient support: analysis of the CBCT images of the cube voluntarily misaligned to control the reality of the 3 voluntary shifts of the patient support.
- Test N°4 – Cube or OTP-ISO+ sphere automatically reset with the patient repositioning software: analysis of the CBCT images of the cube realigned to control the quality of the resetting proposed by the automatic patient repositioning software.
Specifications
Less than 15 minutes is all the time you need to perform the entire control: installation of the test object, image acquisition and analysis, editing of 6 different PDF analysis reports and a trend curve for each tested parameter.
This module enables you to optimally fulfil requirements of the French National Agency for the Safety of Medicines (ANSM) decision dated 28/02/23 regulating the procedures for quality control of external radiation therapy and radiosurgery devices: point 5.4 of the annex.
Associated test objects: Any one of QUASAR Penta-Guide cube from MODUS Medical, CIRS 023 ISO CUBE from CIRS, VARIAN cube or the OTP-ISO+ sphere from QUALIFORMED.
